I have to say I’m glad to see Tristan step out from 90210. In my opinion that show is not doing anything for the guy who showed some much promise in The Wire so I hope this movie helps give him a bit more shine.

I don’t know what to make of Attack The Block but lines like “That’s an alien bruv believe it!” have definitely peaked my interest. What do you think?

Gorgeously shot, this seems to be a teaser video for something called Analog happening December 4 in Rotterdam. An event in association with Moovmnt and Demonfuzz Records. I am intrigued.

I’m still a little jaded by what Tyler Perry did in Why Did I Get Married Too but given the epic casting I’ll try not to be too wary about it.

For Colored Girls stars Phylicia Rashaad, Loretta Devine, Kimberly Elise, Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Anika Noni Rose, Omari Hardwick, Kerry Washington, Janet Jackson and Michael Ealy.

1: Leonardo DiCaprio. Great casting number 1. This guy is so intense. He’s a quality actor for sure. It’s like his face was just framed to carry off intensity. I mean have you seen his eyebrows. In-tense. With all that in mind he kept me completely captivated throughout.

2: Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Great casting number 2. This guy used to have me cracking up as Tommy Solomon in 3rd Rock from the Sun and I’m so impressed with some of the roles he’s taken since. He was brilliant in (500) Days of Summer and I thought he was pretty awesome in this too, a little bit dark, a little bit cheeky and apparently very skilled in a fight.

3: The Beginning.There was a moment at the beginning where I wasn’t entirely sure I’d ‘get it’. I think that was intentional though. For the first five minutes they just throw you into the deep end with nothing to guide you so you really need to pay attention. Eventually all becomes clear but I liked that initial challenge.

4: The Ending. I’ve heard people applauded at the end of this film. Which doesn’t surprise me. It’s pretty epic but what is the real takeaway meaning? It’s too deep to be just entertainment. Too complicated to be just an action film or a thriller. It’s just very philosophical. is it a challenge for us to examine the things that keep us grounded? Is it a warning to the world of commerce on the consequences of persuasive advertising? Is it asking us to examine how we should handle moments of dissatisfaction with our present state?

5: Be prepared to have very, very strange dreams after watching. I’ve seen this film twice and both times I’ve had weird dreams about dreaming within a dream and whether I’m really awake. A number of people have said the same thing happened to them too so be warned, whilst your enjoying the film your subconscious is apparently getting a little trippy.

You even get a glimpse of Banksy himself! OK so his face is blurred and his voice distorted but still… it’s more then I usually get to see of him…

Even though the actors are good, for some reason I feel suspicious of the storyline? Just not sure if I’ll enjoy it or if it’s one of those films where all the best bits are in the trailer? Have a look and let me know what you think?

My problem with Heroes is that following the fantastic first season, each season since has promised so much but delivered so little.

Episodes have featured suprising twists and ended with the most tremendous cliff hangers but by the end of the season I still find myself thinking “Errr is that it? For all their running around what has any of the characters really achieved?”

Thinking about it I have a number of irritations about the show and figured it might be worth compiling them into a…

Top 5 Things I Find Annoying About Heroes:

1: Claire Bennet. She has one power. One. To not get killed. So why is she running around in everything like she can actually make a difference just by gritting her teeth?
2: Future Hiro was waaaaaay cooler then current Hiro. In the first season, future Hiro delivered the ‘save the cheerleader save the world’ message and looked seriously threatening. Really makes me want current Hiro to get feisty already.
3: What’s Claire’s brother doing whilst his dad, sister and sometimes mum seem to be galavanting around getting attacked by psychos.
4: They introduced that copycat hero and dropped her. Completely. Granted the character was annoying but still…
5: They killed Nathan Petrelli. Seriously, why would you do that? He was all dark and and a little twisted and made Peter Petrelli more interesting.
6: Speaking of which, I have to add a sixth point. Peter Petrelli. Man up already. He had all these great powers and only breifly did something interesting with them at the end of the last season when he stopped Sylar.

So all that ramble aside. Here’s the promo for Heroes Season 4. Are you looking forward to it?
