It’s times like this I really wish I had a brother to steal things from, instead I’ll apologise in advance to future boyfriend with a good watch game… Things may go missing. Take these 250 Series watches for example…

Classic and gorgeous in it’s simplicity. The 250 series is inspired by the classic gentleman’s dresswatch from post-WWII and is the result of British and Italian collaboration of desgn and materials. According to Dezeen it features:

“scratch-resistant sapphire glass for improved clarity, Swiss ETA movement and a matt-textured, buttery soft strap in oiled calf leather.”

It comes in 3 finishes: a satin gold case with a tanned black leather strap, a fine satin brushed case with a walnut brown tanned leather strap, and a matt gun metal grey case with a taupe strap.

And is available from the Dezeen Watch Store for £380.

What’s not to love about a man with a sense of style? I frequently find myself ~~drooling over~~ appreciating the wardrobes of certain male musicians, artists, bloggers, actors and even some of my own friends, completely impressed by their good taste…

So it’s been on my mind for a while to start a new thread for men who actually set my heart all a flutter with their styling and first up is Mos Def (you know how I like to save a little space for Mos Def)

Perfect timing too as I discovered US b-boy, Set Free, caught up with The Mighty Mos Def in New York to talk about his love of fashion.

The Style: The Black Ivy x Street Etiquette

I actually cannot cope… these guys are just too much. Street Etiquette display some serious style *swoon* in this ode to their ivy league educated forefathers.

I’ve always been a fan of a man in a suit but this whole preppy look is definitely my ideal scenario. I just have to “clap my hands, clap my hands for the brother man”.

Check out H&M’s Autumn Winter 2010 ad campaign featuring Daria Werbowy and Jon Kortajarena. Speaking of Jon Kortajarena, in the words of Madonna, this man knows how to “give good face”.

Aside from this clogs epidemic (?!?) We seem to be venturing into a season of relaxed wear. Nice!

Whoop whooooop! I salute… applaud… do a celebratory two step to the guys behind Street Etiquette. I love their style, culture and ambition.

They’re onto a very good thing with their behind-the-scenes video, Sewn From The Soul, which you can get a peek at below. Love. It.

Given that our US cousins are now celebrating Black History Month, Street Etiquette thought they’d put this together as an ode to the greats.

They said:

“This video is meant to honor individuals from Miles Davis to Dr. Cornel West with a splash of our own Street Etiquette style.”

This LED watch by Hironao Tsuboi looks like a man’s metal watch strap until you press a button and reveal the time lit up between the chain links.

Currently there are no details on price but the watch will eventually be available to customers in Japan via online store 100%.

The Book: The Sartorialist

So one of my favourite photographers, Scott Schuman ( the man behind fashion blog The Sartorialist) has signed with Penguin to publish his own book.Apparently, by September 2009 we will be able to appreciate 500 pages of fashion fabulous photographs like the one below. I can’t wait!

I could explain what makes The Sartorialist such a fascinating blog but instead I thought I’d share a quote from Scott Schuman, the photographic genius behind it…

“I thought I could shoot people on the street the way designers looked at people, and get and give inspiration to lots of people in the process. My only strategy when I began The Sartorialist was to try and shoot style in a way that I knew most designers hunted for inspiration”

So above we have an amazing example of his work and I can say I am most definitley inspired… love it!

The Style: Men in Cardis

I heart men in cardigans. It’s just something I had to announce following three incidences:

1: A while ago I had to give a major compliment to a male friend who started wearing a very nice striped number.

2: Courtesy of sneakhype, I spied, and subsequently fell in love with, the new stripe collared cardigan by Billionaire Boys Club. Though can I say, having a label called BBC is very confusing for us Brits and brings to mind EastEnders and Newsnight rather than Pharrell and Ice Cream.

3: The stranger I spotted on the train this morning in the nice grey knit cardigan. Dude, I salute you and your distinguished swagger.
