Once the icy winter spread coats the the streets no longer should the fashionista be doomed to stay locked up like Rapunzel, tormented that this might be the actual year she’d have don a pair of… dare I say it… walking boots. She’s tried matching them with everything from Alexander McQueen to Zac Posen and they still look just so boringly practical.

Nope, thanks to DSquared she stares into the face of Jack Frost and says bring it on… Walk you say! Walk?! Dahling that’s so last year. Everybody skates don’t you know. In stilettos too!

The Style: Vans OTW Collection Trailer

I confess I’m typically a heels or pumps person but man I love the look of these new Vans. Especially the grey pair. I initially glimpsed them at the 1:22 mark in the trailer and it was love at first sight!

The OTW collection comes in three styles. My favourite style is Larkin which you can view in the gallery below but there’s also the Bedford (“…which marries Vans’ heritage-based mid with a modern, slim design.” – says Hypebeast) and the Alomar (“….which draws cues from Vans’ classic Chukka” – says Hypebeast).

I thought I’d quote Hypebeast on this because being a heels and pumps girl has severely limited my ability to speak sneaker.

The Style: Keri, Garcelle & Eva at 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards

So I was over at Concrete Loop browsing through the red carpet looks from the 41st annual NAACP Image Awards and thought I’d share my three favourite looks.

First of all, I. Love. This. Dress. I just had to blog it. It’s too stunning for words and Keri Hilson looks gorgeous in it. I swear if I was her I wouldn’t want to take it off.

I have to say I think it’s more Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon’s sassy attitude rather than the dress that drew me to this picture but I still think it’s cute. I truly love the purse though.

Eva Marcille seems to be channeling Grace Kelly in this gown. It is beautiful but in other images I’ve seen of her wearing it I couldn’t help imagine it looking even more gorgeous in a slightly more contrasting colour.

Speaking of Solange Knowles, here she is in Tokyo wearing a very interesting pair of shoes.

I can’t say I love the shoes I mean if the gold side was a whole sandal I don’t think I’d really be a fan at all. I do however find them very, very interesting and as a look I’d like to see where other designers could take it.

It’s currently raining tremendously in London but am I bothered? Not in the slightest in fact I’m practically channeling Gene Kelly and singing in it thanks to the gorgeousness that are my dolphin grey Hunter wellies.

They were a gift given to me after the snow earlier in the year made it quite obvious I was pretty unprepared for extreme weather conditions. Now however I am being tempted by puddles everywhere calling me to jump in for joy with my well protected feet. Love it!

It’s time for another obsession confession which I don’t think I’ve done since I admitted to being a stationery junkie but this time around it’s about clothes… and dreams… and a bit about cereal…

Whilst I wouldn’t call myself a shopaholic, occasionally I have these dreams. I know most people dream of strange things but I’d be truly delighted to meet someone who has experienced the great disappointment of waking up in the morning to find all the cereal is finished before realising it was a very vivid dream that made me think I had any in the first place… yes people, I dream of cereal.

Anyway, back to the shoes. Basically, I had an amazing dream of me wearing zebra shoes and a matching clutch and so began the impossible hunt for the product that matched what I envisioned.

Usually when I dream of clothing/footwear (yes it has happened before) I am left to be frustrated that the goods are impossible to find and that I have no skills to make them myself. This time around however I have spotted them… the shoes… in zebra print… with matching clutch!

So Giuseppe Zanotti I salute you! For finally making one of my not entirely fruitful but still deliciously fun dreams a reality. Love. These. Shoes.
