So today’s my first day as an independent boss lady. I was intending on posting about this yesterday but didn’t want to get this post mixed up in all the April Fools malarky as this is most definitely true. As the title alludes, I have indeed moved on from one of the best jobs I’ve ever had to launch Love Harlem.
Friday was my emotional last day at the day job. For the past 2½ years I’ve been working on an online community for entrepreneurs and now I guess you can say I’m about to become one.
It’s taken a real leap of faith but following a series of praise-break worthy miracles I’m so excited for what the future holds, namely the much-anticipated unveiling of Love Harlem this Spring.
I have worked with some awesome and incredibly talented people. My brother-from-another-mother @Jossmart has gotten a frequent mention on the blog and more recently I shared some gorgeous polka-dotted nails done by my former manager @ErnestinaCH.
I have to thank them all for giving me such a great send off too. If there’s one thing you should know about me via Harlem Loves, is that to say I’m a fan of stationery is a severe understatement. Don’t ask why. It’s just who I am. So what were my leaving gifts? A selection of treats from Liberty including the cutest floral print pencils, an owl paperweight and a Christian Lacroix notebook (all pictured above).
They also managed to put together the best farewell video:
