Had a spontaneous opportunity to see Raphael Saadiq last week (thanks cuz xx) and trust me next time he’s in town I’ll be getting my ticket well in advance…
I’m not going to lie, I hadn’t paid real attention to Raphael Saadiq before now. I loved Lucy Pearl and caught a few of his collaborations here and there but hadn’t really touched on his solo stuff.
After his Shepherds Bush gig however I have added his entire back catalogue to my Spotify and am currently working my way through to spot my faves, one of which is Be Here, a classic back in the day collaboration with D’Angelo.
He performed a remix of it on the night but it didn’t really do the song justice, probably the only teeniest tiniest complaint I have on an overall fab night with fab company and truly fab music.
