The Experience: Evening Standard’s Big Apology

I was on the train this morning when I saw a large billboard displaying the message below…To add to the intrigue, various forms of this public apology continued to appear at random points on my journey to work making me wonder who had done me so wrong they wanted to beg mine and the rest of London’s forgiveness.I have now discovered it was the Evening Standard who are responding to opinion polls from my fellow Londoners who say the paper has become too negative and failed to capture the wonders of our capital city.

I think it’s a bold move by the paper and one I’ve been waiting for ever since they changed up ES magazine from it’s unique design and edgy content back in the 90s …(I do miss those days)

Grudges aside I think the ads are pretty iconic, maybe not to the levels of the Keep Calm and Carry On posters but worth noting all the same.

See the other ads an the Guardian’s gallery.
