The Salute: Happy Birthday Jackson Pollock

On a trip to the Tate Modern last year I absolutely fell in love with the Jackson Pollock painting Summertime: Number 9A

The photo above does not do it justice so I wholly recommend you take the trip to see it, as it is beautiful.

As soon as I saw it I remembered going to carnival as a kid. I’m sure other people take something different from it but for me the painting will always look like one long street party, a parade of dancing figures with blue and yellow costumes and flags. Love it!
